Essential oils are sometimes called "volatile oils" because they evaporate very quickly when exposed to air. They are what give plants their characteristic smells. Smell is very important to how we relate and feel about the world around us. Our sense of smell is the only sensory pathway directly connected to our brain. Smells give us direct access to our emotions past and present, evoke memories, and can be mood altering. These oils also work through our skin by osmosis which makes them ideal for incorporating with massage. Many find various substantial benefits to these oils by ingesting them as well. Daily use and/or consumption of essential oils can improve overall health, balance of mind, body and spirit. Combining EO's with a healthy diet and moderate fitness routine you can expedite a path to health and wellness.

The most important thing to look out for when selecting essential oils is its purity and quality. Check the label to see if it says "100% essential oil". One way to ensure your "pure" essential oil isn't mixed with another oil or synthetic counterpart is to place a drop of EO on a sheet of paper, if it completely evaporates you found a 100% EO , if it leaves a stain behind it is probably a fake or a blended/diluted EO. (check the ingredients again)
